We've compiled the following FAQ to answer common questions about donations.
- Skincare, full-sized makeup, hair and beauty products, nail polish, scarfs, gloves, jewelry, fuzzy socks, samples of beauty products, perfume (all products in quantities of 50 and 100)
- Gift Cards (HEB, Gas, Fast Food, Restaurants, Spas, Department stores) any amount, $10 cards are helpful in any quantity
- Office supplies (paper, pens/pencils/markers, paper clips, staplers, packing tape, large zip lock bags)
- Full-sized hygiene products (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, face wash, lotions, soaps, dental floss, toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant)
- Paper products (tissues, toilet paper, paper towels, napkins, paper plates and cups)
- Organic and gluten-free foods, fresh fruits and produce, beef jerky, snack packs, granola bars, cookies, crackers, cases of water, gatorade
- Baby diapers (all sizes), formula and infant and toddler items
- Gently used furniture and household goods
- Uber or Lyft gift cards
- Coloring books, toys, crayons, Play-doh, therapy items
- Sports Bras and women’s underwear (all sizes)
- Workout wear, leggings, t-shirts, suits, clothing, blankets

After scheduling a drop-off time, you will receive instructions on how to bring the items to our offices. We don’t have a drop-off location outside of our offices, so please do not leave anything unattended.
- NSAGirls Program- Gifts are assembled and given to each woman we meet in her workplace.
- Care packages – Brand new items are given as a gift to each woman we encounter on our monthly outreaches or special programs. In 2022 we gave away over 1,590 gifts!
- On-Site Activities and Special Events– New and gently used items are used in activities such as our workshops, retreats and support group activities
- Trauma-informed Counseling- Transportation gift cards, food and water, snacks
- Job ready program– New and gently used items are gifted to our program participants
- Client Requests – New and gently used items are provided on a want or need request
- Special Operations and Crisis Intervention – Hygiene items are packaged into our signature NSAGirls bags and given in a moment of crisis. Basic essentials, gift cards, water and food items go into our gift bags.
We will provide you with a donation receipt at your scheduled drop-off time. The IRS requires that you estimate the market value of the items you donate. Untethered Ministries cannot make this estimate for you. Donors do not receive any goods or services in return for their donations to Untethered Ministries. Federal law states that items must be in “good used condition or better” to qualify for a tax deduction.
You may always obtain an independent appraisal of any item you feel to be worth more than $500. Please consult with your tax advisor if you have any questions.
